Hair Transplant in Istanbul · Licence Check of 40 Clinics, Prices, Recovery

Short version: Turkey’s Ministry of Health publishes who is licensed to treat patients from abroad. We checked 40 of the most visible Istanbul hair transplant clinics against those lists on 26 September 2026: 24 appear under their own name or a clearly linked one, 5 have a possible match we could not confirm, and 11 were not found under their brand or founder’s name. You can search any clinic below. Packages cost about €1,800 to €3,500, doctor-led boutique clinics €3,000 to €6,000. Plan on two careful weeks and no hamam or swimming for about four weeks.

Nobody pays us to be on this page and we do not refer patients. Almost everything else written about Istanbul hair clinics comes from a clinic or an agency paid per patient; this page is a check against official lists, dated, so you can repeat it.

The licence check: 40 clinics

How to read it. “Facility on the list” means the clinic, under a clearly linked name, holds the Ministry’s health tourism licence. “Licensed agency” means the brand’s company is on the HealthTürkiye list of licensed agencies, which may arrange travel and treatment but are not the place where the surgery happens. “Not found” is not proof of anything: ask the clinic for its licensed name and search that.

1. Ask for the licensed name. Message the clinic: “What is your facility’s name on the Ministry of Health health tourism list?” Brands like “X Hair Clinic” are usually licensed as “Özel X Polikliniği”, “Özel X Tıp Merkezi” or a doctor’s practice, “Dr. X Muayenehanesi”.
2. Search it in the box above, or in the Ministry’s own PDF lists (hospitals, medical centres, private practices, other facilities), last updated 20 August 2026.
3. If you are booking through an agency or “facilitator”, check it on the HealthTürkiye agency directory. Licensed agencies have an AK number, and HealthTürkiye says they are also A-group travel agencies licensed by TÜRSAB.
4. Look at their English website. Since November 2025, licensed clinics and agencies advertising to foreigners must show their licence and the HealthTürkiye logo. An English site with package prices but no certificate is a warning sign.

What the 2025 rules mean for you

A Ministry regulation published on 12 November 2025 bans prices, discounts and campaigns in health advertising in Turkey. The exception is health tourism: licensed clinics and agencies may advertise, including prices and discounts, only on a separate site in a language other than Turkish, aimed at people abroad, and must show their licence and the HealthTürkiye logo (Article 8). That is why the English sites quote “€1,990 all-inclusive” while Turkish sites quote nothing.

Two things follow. A clinic advertising package prices to foreigners without a licence is breaking the rule. And the same article bans these players from targeting people who live in Turkey, so if you live here, expect Turkish-language channels to stay quiet about prices.

Prices in 2026

Ranges combine 2026 figures from HairPalace (largest packages at ten Istanbul clinics, £2,300 to £4,860), Clinic Care Center ($2,200 to $3,500), a clinic’s published 2026 price list (FUE €1,800 to €2,400, DHI €2,600 to €3,400) and Nerdbot’s March 2026 comparison (€1,800 to €6,000 across ten clinics). They are not quotes.

Before you pay, ask: how many grafts are included (and what happens if you need more), who does the extraction and the implantation (a doctor or technicians), how many patients the clinic operates on that day, and what the follow-up covers once you are home.

What a licence does not tell you

A health tourism licence says the facility meets the Ministry’s standards to take foreign patients. It says nothing about who will hold the instruments. The biggest complaint about Istanbul hair clinics is the “hair mill”: many operations a day, with technicians doing most of the work. The licence check filters out the worst operators; the questions above filter the rest.

Recovery if you work remotely

The NHS also says you may be told to cut down on exercise in the first month. Your clinic’s instructions come first.
