Holafly Turkey 2026: Prices, the BTK Block, and Whether It Still Works

Official rules Updated · Last checked · reviewed by Nomad Istanbul editorial team

Holafly's Turkey eSIM works if you buy and install it before you fly, but its app and site are blocked in Turkey. Unlimited from $11.90 for 3 days to $73.90 for 30. Checked 18 Oct 2026.

Short answer: Holafly’s Turkey eSIM works, but only if you buy and install it before you fly. Turkey’s regulator BTK blocked Holafly’s website and app on 10 July 2025, so from a Turkish connection you can’t buy, top up or extend. Holafly sells only unlimited plans for Turkey: $27.50 for 7 days and $73.90 for 30 days. Simbye’s unlimited plan is $17.00 for 7 days with our code, and its store still loads in Turkey.

What you get with Holafly in Turkey

  • Networks: Turkcell and Türk Telekom, per Holafly’s Turkey page.
  • Data: unlimited under Holafly’s fair use terms; 5G where available.
  • Hotspot: up to 1 GB a day, so a 7-day plan includes 7 GB to share.
  • No Turkish phone number. Data only; calls and messages go over WhatsApp or similar.
  • Activation: install at home, and the plan starts when you arrive and switch it on.

The block: what works and what doesn’t

On 10 July 2025 BTK added Holafly to its first list of eight blocked eSIM sellers, with Airalo, Saily and Nomad. In our test from a Türk Telekom line on 1 October 2026 (VPN off), Holafly’s website timed out. On 13 October 2026 we rechecked on a Turkish mobile line in Istanbul and it still did not load.

The risk is running out of days. If your trip runs longer than planned, you can’t add days from Turkey, so buy a plan that covers the whole stay, or use a store that loads there. More detail in our Turkey eSIM block guide and the Airalo version of this question.
